Most printers that support LPD will accept communication over port 515 regardless of whether the correct remote printer queue value is used. Most PCL printers use port 9100 and regardless of the hardware, a PCL Manufacturer Type and Model, such as *HP4, *HP5SI, *HP4000, etc. Or, create a printer configuration and see if it works. Supported Network Protocols to see if TCP/IP LPR/LPD, Port 9100, IPP, or SNMP is listed. Refer to the printer hardware documentation or visit the printer manufacturer's website to locate the printer's specifications to make the determination if it will work with the IBM i.Įmulation or Printer Languages, or search on PCL.
